Naturalistic planting design that brings together beauty, biodiversity, seasonality, and long-term performance.
Planting is at the heart of our work. We create composed, naturalistic planting schemes that respond to soil, light, climate, and ecological opportunity while delivering a strong visual and atmospheric experience. Our planting design balances native and adapted species, structure and movement, bloom and evergreen presence, resulting in landscapes that feel rich, alive, and resolved throughout the year. Every planting plan is developed to support both the aesthetics of the project and the long-term health of the site.
Frequently Asked
Planting design is the discipline of selecting, composing, and arranging plant species to achieve specific spatial, ecological, and aesthetic goals. Rewild Landscape's planting design work combines horticultural precision with ecological intelligence, creating plant communities that function as habitat, support soil biology, and deliver refined year-round composition rather than static ornamental displays.
Rewild Landscape prioritizes native and regionally appropriate species because they support local biodiversity, require fewer inputs, and belong to established ecological communities. The studio also incorporates non-invasive naturalized species and select cultivars when they advance the design intent, always evaluating each plant for ecological function alongside beauty and performance.
Planting plans at Rewild Landscape are developed by founder Marie Salembier, a French-trained landscape architect and horticulturist, with input from the studio's horticultural team. Every plant palette is composed around the site's soil, hydrology, microclimate, and native plant communities, then refined through construction documentation and installation oversight.
