Rewild Landscape, LLC (“Rewild,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is a landscape and planting design studio based in New York City and Sagaponack, New York. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through rewildlandscape.com (the “Site”), how we use it, whom we share it with, and the choices you have.
We have kept this policy deliberately plain, because the Site itself is simple: it presents our work and gives you a way to get in touch. There are no user accounts, no online payments, and no advertising on the Site.
The only form on the Site is our contact form. When you use it, we collect:
The contact form also includes a “Keep me updated” box for our occasional studio newsletter. The box is selected by default; if you leave it selected, we will also add your email address to our newsletter list. You can clear the box before sending, and you can unsubscribe at any time (see “Your rights and choices” below).
If you email or call one of our offices directly, we keep the correspondence and the contact details you share with us.
When you browse the Site, our hosting provider and analytics tools record technical information about your visit: the pages you view, the site that referred you, your browser and operating system, your device type and screen size, your approximate location (country, region, and city, derived from your IP address), and, where Microsoft Clarity is active, how you interact with pages — mouse movement, clicks, taps, and scrolling. Our hosting provider’s server logs also record your IP address, browser identifier, the pages requested, and the time of each request; these logs are kept for a limited period for security and troubleshooting. Section 4 describes each tool in detail.
We do not ask you to create an account or password. We do not take payments through the Site. We do not collect precise geolocation, and we do not buy information about you from data brokers. We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not track you across other websites.
We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for targeted advertising, and we do not make automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on the following legal bases:
The Site is hosted on Vercel, and we use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits and page views. It is designed to be privacy-friendly: it does not use cookies to identify you, it does not track you across other websites, and it recognizes a visitor only by a hash created from the incoming request, which is discarded after 24 hours, so it cannot build a long-term profile of you. Each page view is recorded with the page and referring site, browser and operating system, device type, and approximate location (country, region, and city). Vercel Speed Insights measures how quickly pages load (Core Web Vitals); its measurements are anonymous and are not tied to any individual visitor or IP address.
We partner with Microsoft Clarity to capture how visitors use and interact with the Site through behavioral metrics, heatmaps, and session replays. A session replay is a reconstruction of a visit — the pages viewed, and the mouse movements, clicks, taps, and scrolling on each page — that helps us see where the Site is unclear or hard to use. Clarity also records your device and browser type, screen size, and approximate location derived from your IP address.
Clarity masks sensitive content by default: anything you type into a form field or choose from a drop-down menu — including our contact form — is masked in your browser and never uploaded to Clarity, and numbers and email addresses that appear on a page are masked as well. We have kept these defaults in place. We use Clarity to improve the Site only; we do not use it for advertising.
Clarity stores a pseudonymous identifier in first- and third-party cookies, which it uses to connect page views and build aggregated analytics. If cookies are disabled in your browser, Clarity does not set them. The cookies are:
For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, Clarity does not set cookies unless a consent signal has been given, although interaction data may still be collected without them. Microsoft keeps session recordings for 30 days (a small random sample, and any recordings we mark as favorites, for up to 9 months) and heatmap data for up to 9 months, and may use the information it collects for its own purposes as described in the Microsoft Privacy Statement. You can read more about Clarity at clarity.microsoft.com/terms.
Apart from Clarity, the public Site does not set cookies on your device. (A separate content-management area used only by our team requires a login; it is not accessible to visitors.) You can block or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings; the Site works without them. Because we do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising, there is nothing to opt out of in that respect — but if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or “Do Not Track” signal, we treat it as a request not to do so.
We share personal information only with the service providers that operate the Site on our behalf, and only as needed to provide their services:
We may also share information with our professional advisers (for example lawyers or accountants) under confidentiality obligations; with authorities where the law requires it or to protect our rights, our clients, or others; and, if the studio is ever sold or merged, with the acquiring business, subject to this policy. We never sell personal information.
We are located in the United States, and the providers listed above store and process information in the United States. If you visit the Site from elsewhere — including the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland — your information will be transferred to the United States, whose privacy laws may differ from those of your country. Where required, we rely on safeguards such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses and, for providers that are certified under it, the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
Whoever you are and wherever you live, you can:
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you also have the rights to restrict or object to our processing, to receive your information in a portable format, to withdraw consent at any time, and to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
If you live in California or another U.S. state with a comprehensive privacy law, you may have rights to know what information we collect and how we use it, to access, correct, or delete it, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and targeted advertising. We do not sell or share personal information or use it for targeted advertising, and we do not process sensitive personal information beyond anything you choose to include in a message. Although these laws generally apply only to businesses above certain size thresholds, we honor these requests for everyone. We will never treat you differently for exercising your rights. You may appoint an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, and we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing (California “Shine the Light”).
To exercise any of these rights, email nyc@rewildlandscape.com with the subject line “Privacy request.” We will confirm your identity by writing back to the email address we hold for you, and we will respond within 30 days.
The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information through the Site, please contact us and we will delete it.
The Site is served over HTTPS. Contact-form submissions are stored in access-controlled systems available only to our team, and the service providers we use maintain their own security programs. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The Site links to our Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube profiles and to publications that have covered our work. Those websites have their own privacy policies, which we do not control, and this policy does not apply to them.
We may update this policy as the Site or the law changes. We will post the new version here with a revised “Last updated” date and, if the change is significant, note it on this page or, where you have subscribed, in our newsletter.
