A residential oasis set within the woods of Sagaponack.
In the wooded landscape of Sagaponack, Rewild designed a residential oasis that balances human habitation with the ecological integrity of its forest setting. The project, completed in 2022, required a nuanced approach to integrating built space within an existing natural community while preserving the woodland's character and biodiversity. Rather than imposing a manicured aesthetic, the design team worked with the site's ecological intelligence, creating layered plant communities that honor the native species already present and strengthen the resilience of the ecosystem. The result is a residence that sits thoughtfully within its wooded context, where carefully curated plantings and stewardship practices allow both human inhabitation and ecological function to flourish together. For residential projects in forest settings, Rewild grounds its design philosophy in respecting and enhancing the naturalistic communities that define these sensitive environments.
