Interior lobby planting designs for Rockefeller Center.
Rockefeller Center's iconic Manhattan lobbies present a unique opportunity to introduce ecological intelligence into one of New York City's most trafficked hospitality spaces. Rather than treating interior planting as decorative backdrop, Rewild approached these lobbies as environments where layered plant communities could thrive and engage visitors with naturalistic beauty. The project demonstrates how even within the constraints of built architecture and interior conditions, thoughtful plant selection and spatial composition can foster biodiversity and connection to living systems. By applying principles of ecological stewardship to hospitality design, Rewild created interior landscapes that balance horticultural performance with the studio's commitment to rewilding—proving that naturalistic planting strategies belong not only in gardens and parks, but within the urban commercial heart of the city itself.
